The German company Cast Con Engineering – CCE provides solutions for hot operations in siderurgical plants , spare parts for rolling mills and production lines, besides tailor-made slag pots.
The CCE slag pots are designed to achieve best performance and highest lifetime considering operation parameters and specifical handling practices of the customer.
In order to support our customers at its best and to create a reliable and optimized slag pot design, CCE offers the following engineering services:

Construction and project drawing.

Approval of key measurements by manufacturer of slag pot car in order to guarantee maximum compatibility to your existing equipment.
3.
3D-casting simulation for optimized manufacturing process.
4.
Monitoring of slag pot handling, including temperature profile in the slag pots, report and recommendations of potential optimizations
Material of slag pot’s body: cast steel.
- high melting point;
- high ductility;
- good elongation values;
- improved weldability.
Forged and machined trunnions and lifting mechanism.
Performance:
- Clean casting, forged trunnions machined and integrally casted-in, well fettled, heat treated (normalized and tempered), inside ground coat, outside shot blasted.
- Markings: casted-on markings, thickness of approx. 10 mm, with CCE-logo and serial number.
- Quality certification with CCE inspection, certificate 3.1 according to EN 10204 for each slag pot.
Principal actions for quality assurance:
- Visual inspection of inside and outside surfaces.
- Dimensional inspection of functional and important dimensions according to fabrication drawing.
- Heat treatment protocol.
- Ultrasonic test of slag pot’s wall thicknesses at multiple points.
- Magnetic particle tests 100% of the trunnions according to EM 12.680.
- Ultrasonic tests 100% of the trunnions according to DIN EN 1369, LM2/SM2/AM2.
- Chemical analysis and mechanical properties of casted slag pot and forged trunnions test bars.
In addition to serve the various steel producing plants, CCE also supplies to aluminum, copper and zinc manufacturers, parts and pieces under specific design based on the project and specifications of the users.
